Sen. Sally Harrell Honors Clubhouse Atlanta Founder with 2024 Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award

ATLANTA (March 13, 2024) — Yesterday, Sen. Sally Harrell (D–Atlanta) presented Susie Kyle, founder of Clubhouse Atlanta, with the 2024 Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award during the annual Yellow Rose Ceremony hosted by the Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus.

Each year, the bipartisan and bicameral Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus recognizes individuals who have demonstrated selfless dedication to community service. This tradition was started by former Representative Nikki T. Randall, who was a strong advocate for women, families and communities. Sen. Harrell serves as co-chair of Georgia’s Women’s Legislative Caucus.

In October, 2020, Susie Kyle co-founded Clubhouse Atlanta in Dunwoody after many years of serving as a mental health advocate for her son Bo, who suffered from chronic mental illness. Accredited by Clubhouse International, which upholds 37 specific standards, Clubhouse Atlanta provides a supportive environment for individuals to navigate their mental health challenges, fostering recovery, understanding and self-assurance. This approach has been proven to provide significant benefits to both the individual member and the community.

“When I visited Clubhouse Atlanta, I was so impressed with what they do and how their model can give people living with mental illness a sense of community and belonging, ultimately helping keep them out of crisis and out of hospitals,” said Sen. Harrell. “Susie’s work to establish the Clubhouse and her many years of service with the National Association of Mental Illness and other organizations made her an obvious choice for the Nikki T. Randall award.”

Kyle was honored at the Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Yellow Rose Ceremony and Awards Luncheon and with an official Privileged Resolution in recognition of her many years of service.
