Senate Democratic Caucus to Hold Press Conference on Medicaid Expansion

ATLANTA (March 14, 2024) — Today, Democratic Leader Sen. Gloria Butler (D–Stone Mountain) and members of the Senate Democratic Caucus will hold a press conference on Medicaid expansion upon the adjournment of the Senate Committee on Rules.

EVENT DETAILS:

  • Date: Thursday, March 14, 2024
  • Time: Upon the Adjournment of the Senate Committee on Rules
  • Location: Room 203, Coverdell Legislative Office Building, 18 Capitol Sq. SW Atlanta, GA. 30334
  • This Event is Open to the Public.

ABOUT THE PRESS CONFERENCE:

The Democratic Caucus has continually advocated for Medicaid expansion. Georgia’s New Pathways to Coverage program does too little to improve Georgia’s dismal Medicaid situation. Compared to traditional expansion under the Affordable Care Act, Georgia loses on every front. The Georgia Senate Democratic Caucus has urged the Majority Party to expand Medicaid for over 10 years and will highlight a need for action in this arena.

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES:

We kindly request members of the media to confirm their attendance in advance by contacting Sydney Horwitz at the Senate Press Office (Sydney.Horwitz@senate.ga.gov).
