Senator Kim Jackson Receives Committee Assignments

ATLANTA (January 13, 2021) | Yesterday, Sen. Kim Jackson (D – Stone Mountain) was appointed to serve as a member on the following Senate standing committees: Public Safety, Natural Resources and the Environment, Government Oversight, and Agriculture and Consumer Affairs.

“I am grateful to be given a position on such a large number of committees, recognizing how each one has a significant impact on the livelihoods of those right here in District 41, and throughout the state,” said Sen. Jackson. “In beginning my first term as a state Senator, I sought to prioritize issues that promote safety, equity, economic development and environmental protection, amongst other things. These appointments allow me to further represent the needs of our community in the state Capitol and I look forward to collaborating with the other members of these committees, whose range of backgrounds will allow Georgia to excel even further.”

Sen. Jackson was first elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2020 and began her first term on January 11, 2021, the beginning of the first session of the 156th Georgia General Assembly.
