Senator Michelle Au, M.D. Receives Committee Assignments

ATLANTA (January 13, 2021) | Yesterday, Sen. Michelle Au, M.D. (D – Johns Creek) was appointed to serve as a member on the following Senate standing committees: Health and Human Services, State and Local Governmental Operations, Science and Technology, and Retirement.

“It is a privilege to be appointed to serve on these four Senate committees, and to be given the opportunity to advocate for District 48 and the state of Georgia in such a dynamic setting,” said Sen. Au. “Each one of these committees seek to address the growing issues and complexities that have arose in the midst of a pandemic, and I am most eager to provide my background as a physician to find ways we can alleviate the stress placed on our public health communities. Each member of these committees has extended expertise, experience and skillsets, and I look forward to our dialogues in the coming weeks.”

Sen. Au was first elected into the Georgia State Senate in 2020 and began her term on January 11, 2021, the beginning of the first session of the 156th Georgia General Assembly.
