Sen. Ed Harbison Appointed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on State Institutions and Property

ATLANTA (January 17, 2023) | Last week, Sen. Ed Harbison (D – Columbus) was appointed to serve as Chairman of the Senate Committee on State Institutions and Property for the 2023 Legislative Session.

“It is an honor to return as Chairman for the Senate Committee on State Institutions and Property,” said Sen. Harbison. “I want to extend my gratitude to Lt. Governor Burt Jones and the Committee on Assignments for their efforts in assigning committees. I am eager to continue working with my Senate colleagues to ensure that all legislation pertaining to the construction and maintenance of buildings, land, and all other property is handled to the best of its ability.”


In addition to serving as Chairman of the Senate Committee on State Institutions and Property, Sen. Harbison will serve as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Military, and Homeland Security and as Ex-Officio of the Senate Committee on Regulated Industries and Utilities. He will also serve as a member on the Senate Committee on Insurance and Labor, Reapportionment and Redistricting and Rules.
