ATLANTA- (Tuesday, July 12, 2011) – Senate Majority Leader Sen. Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) has been chosen to serve as a member of The Council of State Governments’ International Committee for 2011 and 2012. CSG is a nonpartisan organization that fosters partnerships of learning by advising state government officials and leaders in their process of formulating public policy. In his new role, Rogers will help the committee track global economic developments and how they will impact state government. CSG national committees meet twice a year. Sen. Fort and Other Legislators Hold Press Conference As Clock Begins Ticking on Atlanta School Board Removal Law
ATLANTA (July 11, 2011) – Sen. Fort (D-Atlanta) will be hosting a press conference to speak out on the current situation involving the Atlanta Public School System. Sen. Fort will discuss Senate Bill 79, which passed this past legislative session and allows Governor Nathan Deal to remove school board members. Concerned legislators and citizens alike now await a decision regarding the future of current APS board members. Sen. Fort will be joined by Sen. Horacena Tate (D-Tate) and Rep. Pam Stephenson (D-Decatur).

Georgia State Senate Majority to Host Georgia Solutions Summit in Columbus

Sen. Fort Elected Democratic Whip
