ATLANTA (August 17, 2018) | Sen. Larry Walker (R – Perry) was recently appointed by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle to serve on the Senate Study Committee on Continual Audit Exceptions on Local School Systems, the Senate Study Committee on the Excessive and Duplicative Regulatory Oversight of Community Based Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD), and on the Georgia Joint Defense Commission. Darien Bridge to Remain Open During Construction

ATLANTA (August 10, 2018) | Sen. William Ligon (R – Waverly), in discussions with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Commissioner Russell McMurry on Friday, obtained GDOT agreement that the Darien bridge would remain open during construction, however, only one lane will be available for traffic flow serving both directions. Sen. Elena Parent to Host Georgia Peach Quilt Exhibition

ATLANTA (August 6, 2018)  |  Sen. Elena Parent (D – Atlanta) and Rep. Deborah Gonzalez (D – Athens) will host an exhibition of the Georgia Peach Quilt on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the Georgia Capitol Rotunda. The program will include a presentation of a resolution to Shannon Lawhon of Moms Demand Action, an organization created to raise awareness on gun safety. The organization created the Mother’s Dream Quilt Project as a commitment to making our communities safer, with the Georgia Peach Quilt being one of 17 quilts created so far. Continue reading “Sen.
