ATLANTA (November 1, 2018) | Senator Fran Millar (R – Dunwoody), along with Sen. Brandon Beach (R – Alpharetta), Congresswoman Karen Handel (GA – 6) and Josh Waller with the Georgia Department of Transportation, participated in a sign dedication ceremony honoring Bob Bell on Tuesday, October 30th. Mr. Bell was presented with the “Robert H ‘Bob’ Bell Interchange” sign that will be located on I-85 at exit 94 (Chamblee Tucker Interchange).

“I was honored to be joined by Bob Bell, his family and friends, and my fellow state and federal legislators at this dedication,” said Sen. Millar. “Mr. Bell is the embodiment of what every public servant should be – dedicated, compassionate and selfless. I hope that this small token of appreciation will serve as a long-term reminder of what a wonderful friend, mentor and leader he is.”

Former Senator and Representative Bob Bell served in the Georgia General Assembly from 1969 until 1982, where he was elected to Republican leadership. In 1982, he ran as the Republican nominee for governor. He served the Republican Party of Georgia in several ways, most notably as the chairman. In addition to these leadership positions, he was honored by the Atlanta Journal Constitution in 1980 as one of the state’s 10 Best Legislators and by the National Conference of State Legislators in 1981 as one of the 10 Outstanding Legislators nationwide.
