ATLANTA (October 31, 2018) | The third meeting of the Senate Advanced Communications Technologies and Use of State and Local Government Right of Way Policy Modernization Study Committee will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Jackson EMC located in Gainesville, Georgia.
Senate Resolution 1019, sponsored by Sen. Frank Ginn (R – Danielsville), created the Senate Advanced Communications Technologies and Use of State and Local Government Right of Way Policy Modernization Study Committee. Sen. Ginn serves as chair of the ten- member committee which will meet with stakeholders to determine modernization, fairness and technology neutrality for the deployment of communication networks and new technologies throughout the state using rights of way. Additionally, the committee will review the proper policies for taxing these services. The committee must report its findings on or before December 1, 2018.
