ATLANTA (October 24, 2018) | Today, Sen. Fran Millar (R – Dunwoody) will be presenting checks worth over $100,000 to organizations chosen to receive grants from the Dog and Cat Sterilization Program.
The checks that are being presented are derived from specialty license plates that help fund the Dog and Cat Sterilization Program. Funds are appropriated to licensed animal shelters, nonprofit animal rescue organizations and veterinary medical associations who apply for a grant through the Department of Agriculture to help assist with dog and cat sterilization procedures. Grants range in size from $2,500 to $140,000 based on the highest priority of need across the state. Sen. Millar’s efforts in the Georgia General Assembly helped restore funding to this program.
