Sen. Elena Parent Introduces Legislation to Reduce Gun Violence in the State of Georgia

ATLANTA (February 17, 2023) | On Monday, Sen. Elena Parent (D – Atlanta) spoke at a press conference addressing potential legislation surrounding gun safety. The press conference, held by the Democratic Caucus of the Georgia General Assembly and Moms Demand Action, discussed the need for further gun regulations in the state of Georgia. In her speech, Sen. Parent highlighted two bills that she sponsored that would reduce gun violence, Senate Bill 33 and Senate Bill 75.

Senator Jason Esteves Introduces Bipartisan Legislation

Senator Sally Harrell Announces the New Innovation Commission

ATLANTA (February 16, 2023) | Today, Senator Sally Harrell (D – Atlanta) held a press conference with fellow legislators, self-advocates, concerned members of the public, family members and service providers for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The press conference announced the findings of the Senate Study Committee on People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Wavier Plan Access, chaired by Sen. Harrell and Sen. John Albers (R – Roswell), including a creation of the new Innovation Commission for Georgians and the next steps to take to further access to waivers and wages for Georgians with IDDs and their caregivers.
