ATLANTA (August 20, 2024) — On Friday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m., the Senate Study Committee on the Preservation of Georgia’s Farmlands, chaired by Sen. Billy Hickman (R–Statesboro), will hold its second meeting at Habersham EMC.

ABOUT THE MEETING:
During the second meeting, the committee will hear updates on Georgia’s farming industries and discuss Conservation Use Valuation Assessment (CUVA) Programs and the role of local governments in development and growth planning. The committee is tasked with studying the conditions, needs, issues, and problems related to the preservation of Georgia’s farmlands and recommending any action or legislation.
