Senate Study Committee on Revising Voting Rights for Nonviolent Felony Offenders Meeting at LaGrange College

ATLANTA (October 8, 2019)  | Sen. Randy Robertson (R – Cataula) will host the second meeting of the Senate Study Committee on Revising Voting Rights for Nonviolent Felony Offenders on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. on the second floor of the Mabry Gipson Student Center, in the Dixon Assembly Room, of LaGrange College.

The Senate Study Committee on Revising Voting Rights for Nonviolent Felony Offenders was created by the passage of Senate Resolution 153 during the 2019 Legislative Session. As stated in the resolution, the committee shall be comprised of five members of the Senate. Currently, Georgia forbids all felons from voting. The study committee will review the current law and how it impacts reintegrating persons back into society. The committee must report its findings on or before December 1, 2019.
