Senate Study Committee on Certificate of Need Reform to Meet in Macon

ATLANTA (September 26, 2018) | The first meeting of the Senate Study Committee on Certificate of Need Reform will take place on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the Presidents Dining Room at the University Center on Mercer University’s campus in Macon, Georgia.

The Senate Study Committee on Certificate of Need Reform was created by Senate Resolution 1063, sponsored by Sen. Ben Watson (R – Savannah), and is tasked with reviewing the Certificate of Need laws and determining if they are in the best interest of patients and hospitals with respect to the changing healthcare system. The study committee is comprised of 13 members and will submit a report on their research and findings no later than December 1, 2018.
