Sen. Hardie Davis Visits Cross Creek High School

ATLANTA (August 23, 2013) – Senator Hardie Davis (D – Augusta) visited Cross Creek High School today to speak to the  “Jobs for Georgia Graduates” students about the importance of professionalism during job searches and in the workplace.

“It is so important to do all we can to give young professionals a competitive edge in a tough job market, and I am honored that Cross Creek High School invited me to share my experiences and advice with the ‘Jobs for Georgia Graduates’ students,” said Sen. Davis. “It was my goal to provide these students with lifetime knowledge that can be carried with them to any job interview or future place of employment.”

Senator Davis emphasized the importance of dressing for the job desired and showing respect to not only others but one’s self. In addition, he also provided the “Jobs for Georgia Graduates” students with interview best practices and other general professional advice.

Jobs for Georgia Graduates is a school-to-work transition program designed to provide high school students with pre-employment training, work skills, motivational activities, and job development. JGG provides follow-up services to increase the graduation rate and encourage a successful transition from school to work. The program is a partnership between local schools, businesses, communities, and the Georgia Department of Labor.
