Sen. Emanuel Jones Urges Attorney General to Investigate Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary

ATLANTA (July 25, 2023) | This week, Senator Emanuel Jones (D – Decatur) urged Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the practices and leadership at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary located in Locust Grove, Georgia.

“I call on Attorney General Chris Carr to investigate the unethical operations and management at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary,” said Sen. Jones. “The series of violations made by the Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary should not be taken lightly and must be delve into deeper. The Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary has been a haven for animals for over 30 years and is a staple of the community in Henry County. We must act urgently to ensure that this Georgia institution does not become fragment of what it once was. I am hopeful the office of the Attorney General takes my request into consideration and proceed with a thorough investigation.”

The request to investigate Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary was made as a result of nine court summons filed against the facility on May 3, 2023. Henry County, who filed the court summons against the facility, cited the following violations: “inhumane treatment of animals, failure to provide adequate care of animals and animal cruelty.” Further, on May 6, 2023, the Henry County Animal Control issued of an official bite report to the facility.
