ATLANTA (March 11, 2025) — Yesterday, Sen. Emanuel Jones (D–Decatur) was appointed to be a member of the Fiscal Affairs Subcommittee by Governor P. Brian Kemp. The subcommittee works under the Fiscal Office, one of the Joint Offices of the Georgia General Assembly.
“I am honored to serve on this distinguished committee and represent my constituents of the 10th Senate District in this new capacity,” said Sen. Jones. “Being able to contribute to the economic growth of our great state is a privilege and responsibility I do not take lightly. I look forward to working with the other subcommittee members to approve the necessary budget transfers for the 2026 Fiscal Year.”
Additional members to serve on the Fiscal Affairs Subcommittee include Senators Drew Echols (R–Alto), Bo Hatchett (R–Cornelia), John F. Kennedy (R–Macon), Bill Cowsert (R–Athens), and Representatives Lauren McDonald III (R–Cumming), Josh Bonner (R–Fayetteville), Matt Gambill (R–Cartersville), Mack Jackson (D–Sandersville) and Sandy Donatucci (R–Buford).
The Fiscal Office is responsible for all accounting functions in the Georgia General Assembly and minor building maintenance. The Fiscal Affairs Subcommittee meets once each quarter or when called on by the Governor to review and approve budget unit object class transfers. The subcommittee is also responsible for creating an annual financial report for the General Assembly.
