Sen. Ed Harbison Releases Statement on the Passing of Former State Senator Pete Robinson

ATLANTA (July 2, 2021) | Today, Sen. Ed Harbison (D – Columbus) released the following statement regarding the recent passing of former Georgia legislator Pete Robinson:

“Pete Robinson was a friendly face to many – a leading member of his community, a key policy figure and to myself included, a great friend. I had the pleasure of serving alongside former Sen. Robinson briefly, during my first year in office nonetheless, and all of the skills and experiences I have learned from my time here can be attributed to him. He had the confidence in me to Chair the Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committee as a freshman, a moment I will never forget, and as Majority Leader, Sen. Robinson was instrumental to the success of our Caucus. He led the charge on a number of pieces of legislation that have shaped our state and as the people of Columbus know, he was one of our greatest voices in Atlanta. He will be deeply missed and I would like to send my condolences to his family, friends and all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.”
