Senator Russ Goodman Appointed to the Study Committee on Improving Access to Healthy Foods and Ending Food Deserts by Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan

ATLANTA (July 1, 2021) |Today, Sen. Russ Goodman (R – Cogdell) was appointed to the Senate Study Committee on Improving Access to Healthy Foods and Ending Food Deserts, which was created to delve deeper into Senate Resolution 283.

“Many areas in Georgia suffer from food deserts and lack access to healthy foods, but especially South Georgia,” said Sen. Goodman. “South Georgia has several of these areas where the closest place to shop is a convenience store. I am passionate about helping the people of Georgia but especially about finding ways that all people can have affordable and healthy food options. It is an honor to be able to work together with my colleagues to explore solutions to this critical issue.”
