Sen. Renee Unterman Commends Congressional Action on Protecting Human Trafficking Victims
ATLANTA (May 20, 2015) | The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015 (S. 178) on Tuesday, May 19. The federal legislation, which is meant to increase enforcement and provide support services to human trafficking victims, parallels state legislation passed in Georgia during the 2015 legislative session. The U.S. Senate has already passed the legislation, which is now awaiting Presidential approval. State Sen. Legislative Package Aimed at Greater Transparency in DeKalb Signed by the Governor

Digital Classroom Act Signed into Law
ATLANTA (May 12, 2015) | On May 6, 2015, Gov. Nathan Deal signed a bill into law that encourages all instructional material purchased by a local board of education to be in a digital or electronic format by July 1, 2020. Sen. Child Welfare Reform Bill Becomes Georgia Law
ATLANTA (May 7, 2015) | On May 5, 2015, Gov. Nathan Deal signed a bill into Georgia law that will reform the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and provide greater accountability for child abuse records. The bill also creates DFCS advisory boards and establishes specific measures related to case records. Sen.
