ATLANTA (September 15, 2015) | Sen. John Wilkinson (R – Toccoa) attended the University of Georgia’s (UGA) third annual farm tour, held on September 3, 2015 by University President Jere W. Morehead. With a recent jump in agricultural growth in Georgia, the tour was created as an interactive tool to learn more about the state’s largest industry and explore opportunities for future progress and expansion through the university. Sen. Harold Jones II Appointed to Senate Preservation of the Hope Scholarship Program Study Committee

ATLANTA (September 9, 2015) | Sen. Harold Jones II (D – Augusta) has been appointed to the Senate Preservation of the Hope Scholarship Program Study Committee. The Committee is charged with examining the feasibility of legalizing casino gambling as a mechanism to fund the Hope Scholarship.

Sen. Vincent Fort Named 2015 GLBC Legislator of the Year

ATLANTA (August 26, 2015)  |  Sen. Vincent Fort (D- Atlanta) recently received the 2015 Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC) Legislator of the Year Award at this year’s GLBC Annual Legislative Conference in St. Simmons, GA.  He was awarded this honor for his work on this year’s transportation funding bill (House Bill 170) in addition to his contributions on HIV/AIDS public policy.
