Sen. Renee Unterman Participates in Hunger Awareness Events at National NCSL Conference

ATLANTA (September 21, 2015)  |  Sen. Renee Unterman (R – Buford) participated in the 2015 National Conference of State Leaders (NCSL) Legislative Summit on August 3 – 6 in Seattle, WA. During the 2015 Summit, she took part in several events hosted by the NCSL Hunger Partnership, which launched in 2010 to raise the visibility of hunger in America and highlight innovative solutions. This year celebrates the Partnership’s fifth anniversary, as well as Sen. Unterman’s fifth year serving as co-chair of the Partnership. The annual NCSL Legislative Summit is the nation’s largest educational gathering for legislators and legislative staff, and provides a platform for policy discussion and professional development. $1 Million in Block Grants Coming to Senate District 31

ATLANTA (September 18, 2015)  |  Earlier this month, Gov. Nathan Deal announced the recipients of Georgia’s Community Development Block Grants Program. Between awards to the City of Cedartown and Haralson County, $1 million of those funds will be coming to Senate District 31. The $500,000 award to Cedartown will go towards Sewer Improvements while Haralson County will use its funds on Water Improvements. Sen. P.K. Martin Begins Service on Governor’s Child Welfare Reform Council

ATLANTA (September 17, 2015)  |  This summer, State Senator P.K. Martin (R – Lawrenceville) was tapped to serve on Gov. Nathan Deal’s Child Welfare Reform Council, which reviews the operations of Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services and offers recommendations for better performance.
