ATLANTA (August 25, 2015) | Sen. Michael Williams (R- Cumming) has been selected by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle to serve on the Special Joint Committee on Georgia Revenue Structure.
“I am honored to be appointed to the Special Joint Committee on Georgia Revenue Structure,” said Sen. Williams. “I look forward to working with my colleagues in both the Senate and the House during the 2016 legislative session to address any tax reform legislation.”
“I’m proud to appoint Sen. Williams to the Special Joint Committee on Georgia Revenue Structure and look forward to thoroughly evaluating their findings,” said Lt.Gov. Cagle. “Sen. Williams has been a leader on these issues, and I’m thankful he’s lending his time and expertise to the important work this committee will perform.”
The Special Joint Committee on Georgia Revenue Structure was created by the passage of House Bill 170, which became effective on July 1, 2015. The committee will be comprised of appointed members from both the Georgia State Senate and House of Representatives. The committee’s main objective is to draft legislation relating to tax reform and introduce it during the 2016 legislative session.
Senator Williams was also appointed to serve as a member of the Southern Legislative Conference Fiscal Affairs and Governmental Operations Committee.
