Sen. P.K. Martin Begins Service on Governor’s Child Welfare Reform Council

ATLANTA (September 17, 2015)  |  This summer, State Senator P.K. Martin (R – Lawrenceville) was tapped to serve on Gov. Nathan Deal’s Child Welfare Reform Council, which reviews the operations of Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services and offers recommendations for better performance. On Wednesday, the Council gathered for the first time this year to meet with Division leadership and review their mission.

“I am honored to serve on the Governor’s Council with child welfare advocates from throughout Georgia,” said Sen. Martin.  “Protecting our state’s most vulnerable citizens is a worthwhile endeavor and I look forward to working together in the weeks and months ahead to recommend important changes at the Division of Family and Children Services that enhance outcomes, improve efficiency, and ensure a bright future for all of Georgia’s children.”
