Lester Jackson (D- Savannah) led the passage of Senate Bill 318 out of the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee.  SB 318 would authorize the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises on Sundays during the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and other spirited holidays. Sen. Judson Hill Honors Vital Economic and Cultural Relationships Between the U.S. and U.K.

Judson Hill (R – Marietta) presented Senate Resolution 841 today, honoring the cultural, economic and educational relationships between the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the State of Georgia. Bill Revising Reporting Procedures for Public School Athletics Organizations Passes Georgia Senate

ATLANTA (February 6, 2014)  |  Senate Bill 288, a bill preventing Georgia public schools from interacting with any interscholastic sports body that does not release annual financial statements, passed the Georgia Senate today by a vote of 54 to 0. Sen. Charlie Bethel (R – Dalton) sponsored the bill to ensure Georgia students participate in extra-curricular athletics in a transparent environment.
