Statement by the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus on Supporting the Nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the United States Supreme Court

ATLANTA (April 8, 2022) | In response to Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC) celebrating the presidential nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court, GLBC Chair Senator Tonya Anderson issues the following statement:

“The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus is excited to celebrate the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to become the next United States Supreme Court justice. As witnessed during the senate confirmation hearings, Judge Brown Jackson is eminently qualified for this prestigious honor and is endorsed by numerous organizations, attorneys, and judges of various political leanings.

This is an excellent choice by President Biden who is offering the Court a woman possessing deep respect for the law, high legal acumen, strong technical proficiency, unquestionable character, and a perspective that is woefully lacking.

We appreciate the United States Senate making history with the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.”

Established in 1975, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus is a 501(c)3 non-profit, nonpartisan organization comprising of 68 Georgia House and Senate members. For more information about the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, please visit www.gablackcaucus.org or write to media@gablackcaucus.org.
