Several Senate District 3 Communities Eligible for Vibrant Communities Grant

ATLANTA (August 15, 2017)  | Sen. William Ligon (R – Brunswick) recently announced that Brantley, Camden, Charlton and McIntosh Counties are eligible for a Vibrant Communities Grant through the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA).

The Georgia General Assembly allocated funds to the GCA to help increase the reach of the arts throughout as many Georgia counties as possible. The Vibrant Communities Grant program specifically supports the funding of theater, dance or music performances, art exhibits, workshops, readings, murals, sculpture, in-school student programs, arts festivals, and transportation and admission for field trips.

The grant award amount varies between $1,000 and $5,000 and may be used to support projects completed between Oct. 15, 2017 and June 1, 2018. Organizations applying for the grant must be physically located within one of the eligible counties and fit into one of the following categories: a non-profit organization that has been designated a 501(c)3 organization by the IRS and is registered with the Georgia Secretary of State, a local government entity (state and federal government entities are not eligible), a public library, or a school, college or university. The deadline to apply for a grant is August 31, 2017.
