ATLANTA (January 13, 2023) | Earlier this week, Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick (R – Marietta) was appointed to serve as Chair of the Senate Committee on Children and Families for the 2023 Legislative Session. The Senate Committee on Children and Families was established pursuant to Senate Resolution 3, which was passed and adopted during the first week of the 2023 Legislative Session. The Senate Committee on Assignments, chaired by Lt. Governor Burt Jones, is responsible for assigning the Senate Body to committees.
“I am honored to have been selected by my Senate colleagues to serve as chair of this new committee,” said Sen. Kirkpatrick. “As chair of this committee, it will be a top priority of mine to do all that is necessary to prioritize the needs of Georgia’s families and especially, Georgia’s children. I want to thank Lt. Governor Burt Jones for his diligent efforts and all of the hard work that went into this process of creating committee. I am excited about the prospect of working with my Senate colleagues in this capacity and I look forward to what is to come.”
