ATLANTA (January 13, 2022) | Yesterday, Democratic Caucus Vice Chair Sen. Sonya Halpern (D – Atlanta) was assigned by the Senate Committee on Assignments to serve as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Urban Affairs.
“I appreciate and thank Lt. Governor Burt Jones and the Senate Committee on Assignments for their trust in my ability to help lead in the role of Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Urban Affairs,” said Sen. Halpern. “I remain honored to work on issues before the Senate related to transportation, public safety, infrastructure, healthcare and economic development with specific focus on the urban areas of our great state.“
In addition to being appointed Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Urban Affairs, Sen. Halpern (D- Atlanta) was assigned to the following Senate Committees:

- Banking and Financial Institutions
- Education and Youth
- Health and Human Services
