ATLANTA (May 14, 2018) | Senator John Albers (R – Roswell) along with U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson (R – GA), Shawn Hanley, founder and CEO of Green Veterans in Roswell, Georgia and other key stakeholders, held a press conference on Monday, May 14, 2018, where iPads were donated to the Georgia Department of Veterans Service. Mr. Mike Roby, the Georgia Department of Veterans Service Commissioner, and veterans attended the event to accept the donation.
“In this day and age where so much of what is discussed is controversial or divisive, it is a great honor to come together and to be able to recognize our defenders of freedom,” said Sen. Albers. “It is because of people like my friend Shawn, who is a treasure and hero in our community, Exide Technologies, who saw a need in the community and wanted to help and support Green Veterans, and Commissioner Roby and his staff that we can celebrate the good news and show support to those who keep us safe at home and abroad. I want to extend my appreciation to Senator Isakson, a Georgia hero and true definition of a statesman, for leading the charge on making lives better for our veterans. It is truly remarkable to see what we can accomplish when we all work together and I look forward to continue our work to support our defenders of freedom.”
The iPads and Otterboxes were provided by Exide Technologies. Exide Technologies is headquartered in Milton, Georgia, where it offers stored electrical energy solutions including batteries and equipment, as well as services for transportation and industrial means.
