ATLANTA (May 15, 2018) | Sen. Michael Rhett (D – Marietta) was recently appointed to serve on the Senate School Safety Study Committee by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle.
“In light of recent events, this study committee is more important now than ever,” said Sen. Rhett. “I’m glad that Lt. Governor Cagle acknowledged the importance of this issue and put party differences aside to create this bipartisan committee. I hope that through our time in the study committee, we can agree on solutions to prevent any further tragedies from happening in schools and keep our children, teachers and staff as safe as possible.”
The Senate School Safety Study Committee was created through Senate Resolution 935 and will meet with parents, teachers and students across the state until December 1, 2018, in preparation for the 2019 Legislative Session.
