Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan Issues Statement on Proposed Housing Center

ATLANTA (August 12, 2019) |Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan (R – Carrollton) issued the following statement on the proposal by the Federal Government to house illegal immigrant children in Carroll County, Georgia:

“The proposal by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to locate a housing center for 500 unaccompanied immigrant children in Carroll County is no longer moving forward. The department has confirmed that they will not be proceeding with a facility of this kind in the county. I will continue to communicate and coordinate with our local, state and federal officials to keep you informed.”
