ATLANTA (November 25, 2019) | The Georgia Department of Economic Development recently announced seven vibrant community grants and one cultural facilities grant for Senate District 11. These grants were announced by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA) as “funding, programs and services statewide that support the vital arts industry, preserve the state’s cultural heritage, increase tourism and nurture strong communities.”
“I want to thank the department and everyone who worked to secure these grants for communities throughout Senate District 11,” said Senator Dean Burke (R – Bainbridge). “This funding will help revitalize existing infrastructure while funding associations and programs which are vital not only to economic growth, but also the wellbeing of our citizens. I look forward to seeing how these grants will benefit citizens in our local communities and to working with the department to secure additional grants in the future.”

Vibrant Communities
- Thomasville High School Band Boosters – $5,000
- Pines and Palms: The Georgia-Florida Artists Association, Inc. – $5,000
- Colquitt County Arts Center – $5,000
- Popes Museum Preservation Inc. – $2,700
- Cairo High School – $3,000
- Seminole County Elementary School – $5,000
- Pelham Main Street Program – $5,000
Cultural Facilities
- Thomasville Cultural Center – $41,000
