Sen. William Ligon to Chair Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on State Elections Processes

ATLANTA (December 1, 2020) | The Senate Committee on Judiciary has formed a special subcommittee, which will convene at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 3, 2020, in Room 450 at the state Capitol in Atlanta to take testimony of elections improprieties and to evaluate the election process to ensure the integrity of Georgia’s voting system. Sen. William Ligon (R – Brunswick) will Chair the subcommittee hearing.

The Senate Committee on Judiciary has general jurisdiction that includes civil liberties, governmental information, and constitutional issues.

“We are facing unprecedented challenges to our election system and its integrity,” stated Sen. Ligon. “As Georgians, we must step up to the enormous task that faces us. I appreciate Chairman Jesse Stone appointing this subcommittee. His charge to me is to examine the recent election cycle, the recount process, the audit process, the current investigations taking place, the litigation that is moving forward, as well as address issues relating to the upcoming runoffs. That is a broad mandate to accomplish in such short order, yet, by the grace of God, we will accomplish the task with the help of patriotic Georgia citizens.”

Those interested in submitting written testimony should email him immediately at William@senatorligon.com with the following information: name, county, email address, cell phone number, brief description of election irregularities which you were a direct witness to, and whether or not you have already filed any official complaints or affidavits. Do not send documents at this time. His office will contact you to provide another email and a DropBox link to send documentation.
