ATLANTA (December 1, 2020) | Sen. Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga) supports the announced Senate Government Oversight and Senate Judiciary Subcommittee meetings scheduled for this Thursday, December 3rd.
“Due to a number of alleged discrepancies brought to the legislature’s attention following the general election, I believe a thorough and robust review of our election procedures is necessary to avoid similar issues in the future,” said Sen. Mullis. “I believe these hearings will shed some light on potential inefficiencies in our elections system and highlight areas of possible future improvement. I plan on introducing legislation during the upcoming legislative session with the intent of improving our current elections process and ensuring that only legal votes are cast and counted.”
The Senate Committee on Government Oversight has general jurisdiction over state government programs and policies.
The Senate Committee on Judiciary has general jurisdiction that includes civil liberties, governmental information, and constitutional issues.
Both meetings will be held this Thursday, December 3rd in Room 450 of the state Capitol. The Senate Government Oversight Committee will convene at 9:30 a.m. and the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee will convene at 1:00 p.m.
Both meetings will be livestreamed at the following link: https://livestream.com/accounts/26021522/events/8730585
