Sen. Tyler Harper Attends Signing Ceremony at White House

ATLANTA (January 16, 2020) | Yesterday, Sen. Tyler Harper (R – Ocilla) attended a signing ceremony at the White House for the Phase One Trade Agreement with China.

“I was honored to attend this historic occasion, by invitation of the White House and President Trump, that will have an immediate and powerful impact on agriculture and businesses throughout rural Georgia,” said Sen. Harper. “The finalization of this historic agreement will reduce many of the existing barriers facing Georgia farmers, like myself, and businesses looking to export their goods to China and will help generate economic development opportunities and promote jobs across rural Georgia contributing to the continued growth of the American and Georgia economy. It is great to see President Trump and his administration support the American farmer by taking a stand against unfair Chinese trade practices. I am thankful to President Trump and his administration for the progress being made to assist rural communities, farmers, and businesses and especially thankful for the impact this trade deal will have on the district I serve as well as the impact it will have across our state.”

The United States finalized the Phase One Agreement with China on Friday, December 13 and was officially signed January 15, 2020. For more details of the Phase One Agreement, you can follow this link: https://ustr.gov/sites/default/files/US-China-Agreement-Fact-Sheet.pdf
