Sen. Sheila McNeill Issues Statement on Proposed Senate Redistricting Plan for Senate District 3

ATLANTA (November 9, 2021) | Sen. Sheila McNeill (R – Brunswick) has issued the following statement on the proposed Senate map, which passed the Senate Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee on Friday:

“I am pleased with the proposed Senate map which passed the Senate Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee last week. While I will be taking on more than before, I am always up for a challenge and it allows me to meet new Georgians who will be added to District 3.

I have a special place in my heart for Charlton County and with the proposed map, District 3 will encompass all of Charlton County, instead of half. Also proposed was the addition of a portion of Ware County and I look forward to meeting those individuals and getting to know their needs for the area.

Each county poses different issues and needs and my staff and I will work hard to address them and find solutions or point them in the right direction. No matter what the issue is, I will stand behind District 3 and be the voice they need.

The remainder of District 3 would stay largely the same under the proposed Senate map, including maintaining the existing areas of Glynn, Camden, Brantley and McIntosh Counties.”
