Sen. Sheikh Rahman Appointed to Serve on the Senate Study Committee on Economic Development and International Relations

ATLANTA (June 28, 2022) | Last week, Sen. Sheikh Rahman (D – Lawrenceville) was appointed by Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan to serve as an ex-officio member the Senate Study Committee on Economic Development and International Relations, established during the 2022 legislative session through Senate Resolution 822.

“Georgia remains an international stronghold for business with strong policies to promote trade and interconnection and our work will ensure Georgia continues to foster great relationships with countries around the world,” said Sen. Rahman. “We are always looking for ways to improve and grow our status internationally as we welcome businesses and expand economic development opportunities. I am excited and honored to be appointed to this study committee and would like to thank Lt. Governor Duncan for the opportunity to serve.”

The Senate Study Committee on Economic Development and International Relations has been tasked with examining state policies and current national and international trade trends and identify areas in which Georgia can capitalize on its international resources.
