Sen. Ronald Ramsey’s City of Conyers Bill Heads to the Governor’s Desk

Sen. Ronald RamseyATLANTA (April 7, 2015) | On Thursday, April 2, the Georgia House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 231 unanimously. Sen. Ronald Ramsey (D – Lithonia) sponsored SB 231 to create the City of Conyers Public Facilities Authority and appoint its members.

“This bill will ensure there is an assigned authority present to aide in the construction, financing or improvement of projects in the city of Conyers,” said Sen. Ramsey. “I’m thankful to my colleague, Rep. Pam Dickerson, for sponsoring the bill in the House of Representatives. I look forward to Gov. Deal’s signature to make sure SB 231 is utilized at its fullest potential for the award-winning City of Conyers.”

SB 231 will allow the City of Conyers Public Facilities Authority to decide what actions to take regarding real and personal property of every kind for corporate purposes. It will also allow them choose and appoint officers, agents or others for employment in the construction of these projects.

SB 231 will now head to Gov. Nathan Deal’s desk for his signature.
