ATLANTA (November 15, 2017) | Sen. Renee Unterman (R – Buford) will serve as the honorary guest at the Youth Suicide Awareness and Prevention Summit facilitated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s (GBI) Child Fatality Review (CFR) Unit on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center.
This summit is being held to address the rise in youth suicides in Georgia, discuss how to recognize warning signs, and learn about what the Department of Education and other agencies are doing about it. Parents, educators, child advocates, caregivers, & CFR team members are encouraged to attend. In 2017 alone, the GBI’s CFR Unit has reported 38 youth suicides in Georgia. Together, we can be the ones to instill hope in the lives of our youth & work towards reducing this number to zero.
This summit is open to the public.
