ATLANTA (February 8, 2016) | Sen. Nan Orrock (D–Atlanta) was appointed to the Georgia World Congress Center Authority Overview Committee, along with five Senate colleagues, by the Senate Committee on Assignments.
“Our World Congress Center significantly impacts Atlanta’s economy and our state economy as well,” said Senator Orrock. “I’m honored to contribute to efforts to make Georgia a topnotch destination for national and international conventions, festivals and sporting events. Georgians in my district and statewide have a strong vested interest in the success of these efforts to create jobs and stimulate our economy.”
The GWCCA oversees the Georgia World Congress Center, the Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park, developing and servicing local, national and international events at these venues. The GWCCA Overview Committee provides legislative oversight by the Georgia General Assembly. The Committee is chaired by Senator Butch Miller (R-Gainesville).
