PERRY, Ga. (August 7, 2013) – Sen. John Wilkinson (R-Toccoa) and Rep. Tom McCall co-hosted the Joint Agriculture Chairman Ag Issues Summit in Perry on August 6th.
“I’m thankful for all those who participated in the summit,” said Sen. Wilkinson. “Our turn out was great and fostered a productive discussion on agriculture issues facing Georgia and the country as we move into the next generation. By sharing these ideas together, we can create more responsible legislation to promote agriculture growth in the state.”
Legislators joined with agriculture community advocates to listen and learn on a variety of topics, including: Georgia Agriculture Sales Tax Exemptions, Federal immigration reform, regional water planning and commercial driver’s license farm exemptions.
The meeting was sponsored by Georgia Agribusiness Council, Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Forestry Association, Georgia Poultry Federation and Georgia Urban Ag Council.
