ATLANTA (August 21, 2019) | Sen. Emanuel Jones (D — Decatur) has been appointed by Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan to serve as a member of the Senate Reducing Georgia’s Cost of Doing Business Study Committee Study Committee.
“Georgia small businesses form the backbone of our state’s economy by creating thousands of jobs and bringing in millions of dollars of revenue to Georgia,” said Sen. Jones. “However, business owners or entrepreneurs looking to start a business often run into issues including increased auto insurance rates, health insurance costs and the impact of legal costs associated with doing business that could potentially prohibit businesses from achieving their potential. I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to find new ways to reduce the costs associated with starting and operating a businesses to keep Georgia the best state in the nation to do business.”
The Senate Reducing Georgia’s Cost of Doing Business Study Committee Study Committee was created through the passage of Senate Resolution 433 during the 2019 legislative session. The Committee is composed of 15 members who will analyze Georgia’s current business climate and ways the costs associated with doing business can be reduced. The Committee will be responsible for reporting their findings by December 1, 2019.
