Sen. Carden Summers Appointed Chairman of Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions

ATLANTA (January 19, 2023) | Last week, Sen. Carden Summers (R – Cordele) was appointed to serve as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions.

“I am honored to be given the opportunity by Lt. Governor Burt Jones and the Senate Committee on Assignments to serve as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions,” said. Sen. Summers. “Financial institutions are a cornerstone of this state and I look forward to serving alongside my fellow committee members to work on legislation that impacts real estate and securities and as we continue to positively impact the citizens of Georgia.”

In addition to serving as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking and Financial Institutions, Sen. Summers will serve as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Regulated Industries and Utilities. He will also serve as a member of the Senate Committees of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs and Economic Development and Tourism.
