Sen. Billy Hickman Sworn in to Georgia Senate

ATLANTA (September 4, 2020) | On Friday, August 28, 2020, Sen. Billy Hickman (R – Statesboro) was officially sworn in to the Georgia Senate to represent District 4.

“I am proud to have earned the opportunity to represent my community at the Capitol and I am eager to get to work with my new colleagues in the General Assembly to address issues important to our district such as rural healthcare, bringing economic development opportunities to rural Georgia and ensuring our local businesses have the resources they need to withstand the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Sen. Hickman. “I recognize that I have big shoes to fill representing the same seat held by Sen. Jack Hill who was a tireless advocate for District 4 and a man who was responsible for many of the successes we enjoy today. However, I am prepared for this responsibility and stand ready to speak up for our values and do my part in ensuring our district, and Georgia as a whole, is able to reach its full potential.”

Sen. Hickman represents District 4 in the Georgia Senate, which includes Bulloch, Candler, Effingham and Evans counties and portions of Emanuel and Tattnall counties. He lives in Statesboro and is a certified public accountant. He has been married to his wife, Jo Ann, for 45 years and together they have two sons and five grandsons.
