ATLANTA (August 19, 2016) | Sen. John Albers (R – Roswell) wishes to share the following press release from the Roswell Rotary:
“Roswell’s first responders, the city’s Police, Firefighters and EMS members will be honored on September 27, 2016 with an all-expense paid trip to visit the 9/11 Memorial in New York City. The flight is sponsored by Roswell Rotary. It is an effort to show the community’s thanks to the brave men and women who serve the Roswell community every day, keeping our citizens safe and healthy.
Modeled after the successful Honor Air Program which takes thousands of American Veterans to visit historical and war memorial sites in the nation’s capital, the Patriot Flight has been set up to recognize and thank our present day first responders.
Once in New York City, the Roswell First Responders will be given a VIP tour of the 9/11 Memorial and meet with fellow first responders from New York City including members of the New York City Fire Department and members of the New York City and Port Authority Police.
The Roswell community is being urged to participate in the event as well with an early morning hero’s send off. The Roswell First Responders will be heading out to NYC at 6:00am from downtown Roswell at the corner of Woodstock Road and Canton Street. The community will also have an opportunity to welcome these heroes back home at 9:45pm at Roswell Area Park.
The Patriot Flight was organized by Roswell Rotary and its President Jeff McCoy as well as Georgia Senator John Albers a firefighter himself who represents Roswell and North Fulton County. For more information about the Patriot Flight, you can visit the website thepatriotflight.com.
