State Senator Vincent Fort (D-Atlanta) and the Atlanta Fighting Foreclosure Coalition will hold a press conference on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 10:00 a.m. to tell Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo to “stop being the Grinch who stole Christmas.” Sen. Fort and the Foreclosure Coalition have been working in the Atlanta metro area to end the practice of predatory lending. Homeowners facing foreclosures and eviction will also be attending the press conference and are available for interviews.

CLARKESVILLE (Dec. 18, 2009) – Today, State Senator Jim Butterworth (R-Clarkesville) reported to his district that a broad-band network is coming to North Georgia in 2010. Eight counties are recipients of the grant, half of which are located in the 50th senatorial district.

ATLANTA (Dec. 18, 2009) – Georgians from across the state gathered at the State Capitol this week to voice concerns and objections to Georgia’s current property tax system. Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) is chairing the Property Tax Assessment Committee to reform Georgia’s tax system and put the greater burden on the government rather than the taxpayer.
