Sen. Bill Jackson Announces Retirement from the Georgia State Senate

ATLANTA (March 2, 2016)  |   Sen. Bill Jackson (R – Appling) announced his retirement from legislative service this morning at the Georgia State Capitol. One of Gov. Nathan Deal’s floor leaders, Sen. Jackson will serve out the rest of his two-year Senate term but will not qualify to run for re-election to the Senate District 24 seat. Continue reading “Sen. Update from the Gold Dome

This week was a busy one for the Georgia Senate. With five legislative days planned and a full committee schedule, the pressure was on meet the crossover day deadline. Only one legislative day remains for bills to pass the Senate floor and transfer over to the House for consideration. The last 10 legislative days will be used to review House bills in the Senate, as well as finalize and pass the FY 2017 general budget. Continue reading “Update from the Gold Dome”
