Sen. Renee Unterman Recognizes Type 1 Diabetes Day at the Georgia State Capitol
ATLANTA (February 23, 2016) | The Georgia General Assembly recognized individuals living with type 1 diabetes as part of the first Type 1 Diabetes Day at the State Capitol. Young adults diagnosed with the disease served as legislative pages during the day in an effort to raise awareness, and legislators received literature highlighting the challenges of living with the disease. Both chambers of the Georgia General Assembly passed resolutions to recognize Type 1 Diabetes Day at the Georgia State Capitol and honor advocate efforts. Continue reading “Sen. Sen. Larry Walker III Applauds Senate for Passing Senate Bill 337
ATLANTA (February 22, 2016) | On Monday, the Georgia State Senate passed by an unanimous vote of 52-0 Senate Bill 337. Sen. Larry Walker III (R – Perry) sponsored SB 337, the Military Family Health Protection Act. SB 337 provides Georgia active military personnel and their dependents the right to eligibility and retention of earned priority for medical assistance or developmental disability services, even if they are temporarily stationed outside of Georgia.
