Gov. Kemp Signs Teacher Pipeline Bill

ATLANTA (May 5, 2021) | Yesterday, Senate Bill 88, sponsored by Sen. Russ Goodman (R–   Cogdell), was signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp.

“I am honored to see all of our hard work being signed into law,” said Sen. Goodman. “Senate Bill 88 will allow for the Georgia Teacher of the Year to serve as an advisor ex officio to the State Board of Education. By ensuring that we give educators all the tools they need to succeed, teachers will be able to continue to touch the lives of children. As a father of two sons in public school and the husband of a third generation public school teacher, I am excited to see Georgia prioritizing the education system. I look forward to continuing this important work in the future.”

SB 88 is designed to recruit, retain and equip educators in the state of Georgia. To learn more about SB 88 and track its progress, you can follow this link: https://www.legis.ga.gov/legislation/59311.
